Benjamin Jay Durrett "BJAY"

BJay is the owner and managing attorney of Durrett Title, LLC, one of Louisiana's largest real estate title companies. BJay helps clients with everything from home purchases and refinances to complex business transactions. He focuses on serving all of the legal needs of lenders, real estate brokers and agents, developers, investors and other real estate professionals, as well as the clients they serve. Since 2015, BJay has consecutively received the prestigious American Land Title Association's Best Practices Certification. BJay is a licensed title insurance agent for both Fidelity Title Insurance Company and First American Title Company of Louisiana.
BJay has a passion for helping people and a talent for helping his clients navigate transactions quickly and smoothly. He enjoys teaching seminars and routinely speaks at events for area lenders and real estate agents.
BJay is married to Melissa Kendall Durrett. BJay and Melissa are the proud parents of three boys, Noah, Hayden and Liam. He is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University where he graduated with Honors. BJay attended law school at Louisiana State University Law Center where he earned both his Juris Doctorate and Bachelor of Civil Law degrees and was a member of the Louisiana Law Review. At LSU, Mr. Durrett completed specialty coursework in Sales and Real Estate Transactions, Advanced Business Law, Civil and Common Law Property and also studied Comparative International Property Law abroad at University de Lyon III, Lyon, France.
BJay currently served as the Chairman of the Ruston Cultural District and is instrumental in the Ruston Mainstreet programs, Louisiana Tech Foundation, and is a long time Ducks Unlimited Supporter, serving on the Sponsors committee since 2011. BJay is also passionate about helping United Way programs. BJay currently serves as Chairman of United Way of Lincoln, Union and Jackson Parishes. He began his work with United Way with the Capital Area programs in 2005 and he and his wife Melissa have served the Northeast Louisiana United Way since 2010, becoming Steamboat Society members in 2012 and serving on the Campaign board from 2015-2017. BJay also volunteers his time to support the Susan G. Komen Northeast Louisiana Race for the Cure and other breast cancer awareness events, not only participating in the various events yet also donating free legal services needed.
