Estate planning is one of Andy’s focus areas. In fact, it is one of Andy’s favorite areas of practice. In short, we ensure that our neighbors’ wishes for their loved ones are clear and properly memorialized. Estate planning usually seems more time-consuming and troublesome than it actually is. Moreover, the importance of planning for the welfare of your spouse, children (whether minor or major) and/or other loved ones cannot be overstated.
When it comes to estate planning, our best advice is simply but direct: Please do not procrastinate when it comes to making sure that your children and other loved ones are able to deal with the consequences of a death. Estate planning is just as essential for adults with minor children (e.g., future custody and financial stability), as it is for elders (e.g., leaving property to particular heirs). Proper estate planning assures that the wishes of the deceased are as clear as they are cost-effective in execution.
