John Andrew Durrett "Andy"

Andy is the owner and managing attorney of Durrett Law Offices, LLC. Andy's offices assist clients in numerous practice areas including, but not limited to, business transactions (start-ups, investments, divestitures, acquisitions, and mergers), probate/successions, estate planning (wills, trusts, elder law, etc.), mineral law (oil/gas/water/etc.), family law and various civil litigation matters. Andy's several offices focus on serving clients along the Interstate 20 Corridor in North Louisiana.

Andy has been practicing approximately 20 years, earning his degree from LSU's Paul M. Hebert Law Center and Louisiana Bar Admission in May and October of 2002, respectively. Andy has been a Louisiana Statewide Notary since 2002. Andy is admitted to practice in all Louisiana State Courts, numerous United States District Courts and the United States 5th Circuit Court of Appeal.

Andy's range of experience is both broad and multi-faceted. Upon graduation, Andy was hired by his mineral rights professor. He has represented publicly traded companies in complex litigation and private companies in transactions valued at over 100 million dollars. Andy also regularly represents individuals and small companies. Andy's perspective resulting from those experiences offers clients access to custom strategies and/or solutions.

Andy was awarded the prestigious "AV Preeminent" rating following the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review process, which is a rating earned by less than 5% of all attorneys across the country. Andy has also been reviewed by his clients as a "Gold Client on Martindale-Hubbell." Andy bears an "Excellent" rating on Avvo. Prior to opening Durrett Law Offices, Andy was recognized in multiple years by his peers as one of Shreveport's best lawyers in SB Magazine. More recently, Andy and/or Durrett Law Offices have been featured as finalists for best lawyer/law firm in the Bayou Buzz Awards (Bayou Magazine) and Best of the Delta Awards (DeltaStyle Magazine) on numerous occasions.

Andy and his wife, Kathy, have one son, Davis Gray. Andy and Kathy are both from families that are originally native to Lincoln Parish. Andy and Kathy, like several generations of family before them, graduated from Louisiana Tech University. Andy and Kathy also both graduated from Cedar Creek School in Ruston, Louisiana.

Andy serves on both the Ruston Lincoln Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau Board. Andy's charitable involvement includes the March of Dimes, as an Ambassador Family and the top fundraising family in the State of Louisiana in 2012. He also served as Chairman for North Central Louisiana's March of Dimes in 2014-2015. Andy and his wife, Kathy, have been Steamboat Society Members with United Way for several years. Andy's other hobbies and interests include spending time with Kathy and Davis, hunting, fishing, Louisiana Tech and LSU sports.
